JonOne A Beautiful Madness

John “JonOne” Perello grew up in Harlem where graffiti and tags were seen in everyday life. Now living in Paris, JonOne has transferred his work from the streets of New York to the “limitations” of a canvas (some extremely large) and he now fancies more brushstrokes than air sprays.

Here is a short portrait of JonOne as he prepares for his first solo exhibit in the U.S. You can see his art displayed at Fabien Castanier Gallery in Studio City, CA from November 3 – December 2, 2012 www.castaniergallery.com

Help-Portrait San Fernando 2011

This year’s Help-Portrait event was a success! We photographed 54 families. The San Fernando community came out and supported the event with over 60 volunteers and 20 donors. Awesome!

Help-Portrait is a movement of photographers who are using their time, equipment and expertise to give back to the community this holiday season. On December 10, 2011 the community of San Fernando and Alas Media made it possible for these beautiful families to take home a family portrait to share this holiday season.

Alas Media & Education

Alas Media has roots tied to the San Fernando Education Technology Team (www.SFETT.com). Born into a struggling high school, this organization was comprised of students who chose to voice themselves through multimedia in hopes of improving their community and letting the world know that they had something to say. Now as members of Alas Media, we provide professional development focused around the power of multimedia and are ready to get administrators, teachers and students excited about learning through our presentations, workshops and keynotes.

Graham Goddard

Graham Goddard, a Trinidadian-American conceptual artist, shares his thoughts about fear. An all too familiar feeling shared across all artists, fear can prevent a good artist from becoming great. In this short video Alas Media captures Graham’s painting process and shares how he deals with this emotion.
